"What good is the warmth of summer, without the
cold of winter to give it sweetness"

PRESIDENT’S NOTE

As we head into the week, please be mindful that we are entering an extremely cold and potentially unsafe winter weather pattern. If there is a school closure, our meeting will move to a Zoom-only format to keep everyone safe and indoors. I will notify members via text message at the earliest availability and follow up with an email containing the Zoom link. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we prioritize safety.

CLUB UPDATES & ANNOUNCEMENTS

THANK YOU – DOG PARK COMMITTEE
Thank you to the Dog Park Committee for hosting an incredible event at Dawndi’s in support of the Franklin Community Dog Park. We are awaiting final numbers, but the event was extremely well attended and is shaping up to be a great fundraiser. We are also excited to share that the restaurant has expressed interest in partnering with us this spring to host a golf outing benefiting the Dog Park. We look forward to developing those plans together in the coming months.

COMING UP THIS WEEK

EXCHANGE STUDENT PRESENTATIONS
This week, we will hear from Mary Adams, who will be sharing about her current exchange experience. We are also pleased to welcome Mary’s family, who will be joining us in person during her presentation.
Additionally, Elena from the Clarion Rotary exchange program will be joining us via Zoom. Elena is hoping to exchange to Argentina, and we look forward to learning more about her goals and journey.

JANUARY POP-UP SERVICE PROJECT – FOOD DRIVE
Our January Pop-Up Service Project is underway! Throughout the month, we are collecting food donations to support local families in need. All items collected will be donated in February to St. John’s Food Pantry and the CDC Sharing Shelf. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed — your generosity is truly making a difference in our community.

JANUARY 27 MEETING NOTICE
I will be away for the January 27th meeting, and Wendy will be hosting in my absence. Please be sure to come out to support her — and not just because the 50/50 is getting tempting!

LOOKING AHEAD

Planning for the Future of Franklin Rotary

The Board has continued conversations around succession planning to ensure the long-term strength and leadership of our club. Franklin Rotary thrives when members step up, share ideas, and support one another.

We encourage members to consider taking on a leadership role, specifically Vice President and Secretary. If you are interested in serving as President and are not currently on the Board, please contact Wendy Richardson to discuss a plan of action. More information and opportunities to engage will be shared as these conversations continue.

With gratitude,

   Jessica
