“Together, Rotarians are writing the final chapter in the story of polio — one act of service, one vaccine, one child at a time.”

 PRESIDENT'S NOTE

Dear Rotary Family,

The cool air is beginning to creep into the area, and it is really feeling like fall with these leaves changing! One of my favorite things about being from this area!

Thank you to Wendy, who covered the meeting in my absence last week. I trust you all enjoyed our virtual speaker and were able to learn some new things about projects that Rotary supports abroad.

World Polio Day – Friday, October 24

This Friday, the Franklin Rotary Club joins Rotarians around the globe in recognizing World Polio Day — a time to celebrate the incredible progress toward ending polio and to renew our commitment to finishing the job.

Through the End Polio Now campaign, Rotary has helped reduce polio cases worldwide by more than 99%, but the fight isn’t over yet. Every dollar donated is tripled by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, multiplying your impact and helping reach the world’s most vulnerable children.

💉 Join us in the fight!
Make your contribution today at endpolio.org/donate.
Together, we can make polio a disease of the past — and Rotary’s promise a reality.

This week, we will be hearing from Megan Martin from Two Mile Run about Boo Mile Run! They are hosting a Halloween event, and she can't wait to talk to us all about it.

Please remember to bring in our candy donations for the October 24th Liberty Street Trick or Treat. This is our October Pop-Up Service Project. Please make sure you are available to participate!

This week, our District is hosting the Kosovo Friendship Exchange members. Here is a copy of the itinerary if you are able to pop in and participate in any of the activities they are offering. Zach sent you an email at the beginning of the month with all of those outlines and details. Please be sure to jump in.

Rotary Dictionary Project: 19 Years Strong!

Last week, our dedicated members, Denny Hoover and Linda Lusher, visited the 3rd graders in the Valley Grove and Franklin Area School Districts to deliver dictionaries. This marks the 19th year of our Dictionary Project, and we’re proud to have distributed over 4,100 dictionaries to students in our community. It’s always a joy to see the excitement as the kids explore all the new information in their dictionaries, and we’re so thankful to everyone who continues to make this tradition possible. A big thank you to Mrs. Russell for capturing some wonderful moments, which will be featured in the newspaper soon!

Enjoy every minute of the day you are given,
