Welcome to August! I enjoy every second of summer that I can, I hope you are as well!
Our outbound exchange student, Estella Adams will be departing to her host home mid-August. We are so proud of her, and are gifting her jacket for her year and we would love to give her some pins to start out. Please check through your pin collections and see if there are 1 or 2 you would be willing to part with to get her started! Please turn those in by our second Tuesday meeting on August 13th.
Thank you for all the support that was shown four our clubs first Membership Mingle at Trails to Ales! One of the biggest topics covered in the membership survey was that there are not enough after hours meetings. In August alone, we have planned 5 meetings (see the list below) outside of a regular Tuesday meeting to ensure we are serving all of our membership as fully as possible. I can't promise we will have 5 every month, but we are starting off with a BANG!
This Tuesday, August 6, 2024, I hope you will join us, as we welcome Trooper Todd Bingman from the Franklin Barracks, Pennsylvania State Police. It is often hard to get them on our schedule so he was plugged into the schedule to fit his availability. He will be discussing current events in our region, and will take questions you have for him,
August is Membership and New Club Development month in Rotary, and within this month's series, we will discuss the membership and club experience and hear from club members as well as our new Club Membership Co-Chair, Leah Arlington about her plans for enriching club experience. Don't miss out on all the great information in this month's speaker series.
Come to the regular meeting this week for the 50/50 drawing that is down to 3 cards!

Franklin Rotary, Home of District Governor Zachary Covington is the main sponsor for the event, and it would be great to have a great turnout to show our support for the DG as well as the event our town is hosting. See you there!
Mark your calendar for the August 18th Community Helping Day to volunteer you TIME at the Sandycreek Playground Refresh Project. Phase 1 of the project is complete, and we have started with Phase 2 with a complete equipment and concrete powerwash by Mark Baughman! He was so kind to donate him time, equipment and cleaning product to help us out!
Phase 2 will be completed on August 18th with painting, staining, installation of new accessories and some replacements of equipment. Come help!
Our clubs first Discover Rotary Meeting will be held in place of our regular Tuesday meeting at 6:00pm on August 20 in the ballroom of the Franklin Elks Club. This event is not only for new or prospective members, this will be great information for all Rotarians. Come show support for the effort to enhance club membership, and bring a friend or family member that keeps asking " What is Rotary, and what is it that you guys do?" We can promise all your questions will be answered, and then some! See you there!
The 5th non regular meeting event in August is a River Float hosted by Chad Ellis and Candy Connors on August 24th. More details to follow, please let Chad know if you are interested in participating.
Have a great week, and remember I will be available for Office Hours on Tuesday from 11:30 - 12:15 this week if you would like to chat before the meeting. There will be a short board discussion from 11:45-12:00 so please come early if there is a topic for discussion.
Respectfully,
